Event Terms and Refund Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

1. Scope

These Event Terms & Refund Policy apply to Social Seconds event requests, event selection, event payments, event attendance, event add-ons, withdrawals, cancellations, no-shows, credits, refunds, and related event participation rules.

These terms form part of Social Seconds’ public policy set and should be read together with the Terms of Service and any other posted policies, feature-specific terms, or event-specific terms that apply.

2. Event Requests Are Not Confirmed Seats

Submitting an event request does not reserve a seat and does not guarantee selection. Social Seconds events are curated and may be reviewed based on eligibility, membership status, identity verification status, event design, capacity, room composition, prior participation, participation history, payment reliability, conduct history, safety considerations, and operational discretion.

Social Seconds may accept, decline, hold, waitlist, pause, expire, release, or otherwise manage event requests, subject to applicable law.

3. Selected Participants and Payment Deadline

If you are selected for a paid event, your seat is not confirmed until payment is successfully completed by the stated deadline.

Selected participants will be given a payment deadline or payment window. Unless otherwise stated in event-specific communications, Social Seconds generally uses a 72-hour payment window for selected event payment.

If payment is not completed by the stated deadline, Social Seconds may release the seat, mark the opportunity as expired, offer the seat to another eligible participant, restrict future event-request eligibility, or take other reasonable operational action.

4. Checkout Holds and Add-On Holds

Social Seconds may use temporary checkout holds to protect limited event seats, add-on slots, vendor appointment times, or other event inventory. For event checkout and event add-ons, Social Seconds may use a short checkout hold, including a 6-minute hold, while a selected participant completes payment.

A checkout hold is temporary. It does not confirm attendance or add-on access unless payment is successfully completed before the hold expires. If the checkout hold expires before payment is completed, Social Seconds may release the event seat, add-on slot, appointment time, or other reserved inventory. A late payment attempt after expiry does not guarantee confirmation.

5. Confirmed Event Registration

A confirmed event registration is personal, limited, curated, and non-transferable. You may not sell, assign, transfer, lend, gift, resell, or share your event seat, check-in pass, add-on, appointment slot, invitation, or event access unless Social Seconds expressly approves in writing.

Social Seconds may refuse check-in or remove a participant if the participant fails identity verification, arrives outside the permitted check-in window, appears impaired, violates venue rules, violates Social Seconds policies, fails to follow staff instructions, or presents a safety, conduct, payment, identity, or operational concern.

6. Non-Refundable Event Payments

Event registration payments are non-refundable once completed, except where required by law or expressly approved by Social Seconds in writing.

Each confirmed event registration reserves a limited curated seat and affects event balance, guest selection, venue planning, staffing, seating design, event-night pairing logic, and the ability to offer the spot to another attendee.

If you can no longer attend, you must contact Social Seconds as soon as possible at support@socialseconds.ca.

Social Seconds may, in limited circumstances and at its sole discretion, offer a partial or future event credit. A discretionary credit is not guaranteed, has no cash value, may expire, may be non-transferable, may be limited by membership status, event availability, event eligibility, policy compliance, and may be forfeited if the member violates Social Seconds policies or cancels membership.

7. Event Add-Ons Are Non-Refundable

Event add-ons, including photography, headshots, makeup, styling, appointment windows, or other limited event-specific services, are non-refundable once paid, except where required by law or expressly approved by Social Seconds in writing.

Add-ons may be extremely limited, event-specific, tied to a specific vendor, and tied to specific appointment windows or staffing commitments. For example, Social Seconds may need to arrange for third-party providers such as Makeup, Photography, or other vendors to be on site for a specific event and time window.

Because those arrangements are capacity-limited and vendor-dependent, participant-initiated cancellation, withdrawal, lateness, missed appointment time, no-show, failure to check in, or failure to attend does not entitle the participant to an add-on refund.

If Social Seconds cancels an add-on or cannot substantially provide the purchased add-on, Social Seconds will handle the matter in accordance with applicable law and may offer a refund, credit, replacement service, substitute appointment, or other remedy depending on the circumstances.

8. Vendor and Partner Services

Some event add-ons or event components may involve independent third-party vendors, venues, photographers, makeup artists, contractors, partners, sponsors, or service providers.

Social Seconds does not guarantee a vendor’s creative result, service outcome, participant satisfaction, venue conditions, partner performance, third-party service quality, timing, accommodations, or future availability.

9. Participant Withdrawal

If you can no longer attend a confirmed event, you should contact Social Seconds promptly at support@socialseconds.ca. Withdrawal does not automatically create a refund or credit.

Social Seconds may attempt to fill the seat from a waitlist, reserve list, or other eligible participant pool, but is not required to do so. Late withdrawal may affect participation history, future event priority, membership review, and eligibility for future events.

10. Late Arrival, Missed Check-In, and No-Show

A participant may be treated as a no-show if they fail to attend a confirmed event, fail to complete check-in, arrive after the permitted check-in window, miss required event participation steps, leave early without approval, or fail to provide advance notice of non-attendance.

Late arrival, missed check-in, early departure, missed add-on appointment, or no-show may result in loss of event access, loss of add-on access, no refund, reduced future event priority, temporary event-request restrictions, membership review, or other reasonable operational action.

Social Seconds may make exceptions for documented emergencies, illness, bereavement, safety concerns, or other circumstances at its discretion.

11. Repeated Missed Payment Windows or Event Reliability Issues

Social Seconds may consider payment reliability, late cancellations, no-shows, missed check-in, failed identity verification, responsiveness, and participation history when reviewing future event requests.

Repeated missed event payment windows may result in event-request restrictions. At four or more lapsed event payment windows, Social Seconds may restrict a participant from requesting further events unless or until access is restored through curator review.

A participant subject to event-request restrictions may be told: “You are currently ineligible to request attendance to any further events due to an elevated number of lapsed payment requests.” Submitting a curator review request does not guarantee that event-request access will be restored.

12. Social Seconds Cancellation, Postponement, or Material Change

If Social Seconds cancels an event, Social Seconds will offer a refund or credit unless a different remedy is required or allowed by law.

If Social Seconds postpones or reschedules an event, Social Seconds may offer attendance at the rescheduled event, a credit, a refund, or another remedy depending on the circumstances, event-specific terms, and applicable law.

If venue, timing, host, table structure, add-on timing, room format, or other event details change but the core event remains substantially available, Social Seconds may proceed with the event without refund, subject to applicable law.

Social Seconds may cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, modify, or suspend an event because of safety, venue, weather, public-health, staffing, vendor, force majeure, technical, operational, capacity, room-composition, or business reasons.

13. Conduct Removal

Social Seconds may remove or refuse entry to a participant who violates the Code of Conduct, fails identity verification, appears impaired, harasses another participant, records or photographs others without consent, violates privacy rules, fails to follow staff or venue instructions, presents a safety concern, or otherwise undermines the event.

Removal or refusal of entry for misconduct, safety concerns, fraud, identity concerns, payment issues, or policy violation may occur without refund where permitted by law.

14. Chargebacks and Disputed Payments

Participants should contact Social Seconds first at support@socialseconds.ca to resolve billing questions. Improper chargebacks or payment reversals may result in suspension, seat cancellation, introduction withholding, termination, and/or collection of amounts owed, subject to applicable law.
